SEMH Primary Teacher
Job Summary:NextGen are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Primary Teacher (Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their academic and social development. This role requires a strong commitment to educating children, with a focus on individualised learning approaches that cater to diverse needs, including special education and behaviour management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to the varying needs of students.
- Employ effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Provide support for students with special educational needs, including those requiring speech therapy or applied behaviour analysis.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their child's development.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and respect among all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support the individual needs of students effectively.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in education.
- Be familiar with (or willing to complete) TeamTeach training courses
Experience
- Previous experience in special education or tutoring is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting children with diverse learning needs is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for educating children and fostering their growth is crucial for success in this role.
