Job Description:

Reed are delighted to be working in partnership with an established client who are looking to recruit an Energy and Utility Specialist on a full time, permanent contract.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will oversee procurement processes, manage vendor relationships, handle contract administration, and supervise utility services for our corporate facilities. A strong grasp of the energy market, utility billing, and sustainability practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase orders and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, including onboarding and governance.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities, highlighting cost savings, supplier performance, and purchasing trends.
  • Provide procurement support and recommendations to various departments.
  • Oversee utility services (electricity, gas, water, etc.) for corporate facilities.
  • Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinate with utility providers to ensure seamless service delivery and timely payments.
  • Develop and maintain reports on utility usage, tracking energy consumption, costs, and environmental impact.
  • Analyze energy data and recommend strategies to reduce waste and enhance sustainability.
  • Support the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
  • Assist in creating annual energy budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure they remain within budget.
  • Provide reports and recommendations on energy savings and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national energy regulations and sustainability initiatives.
  • Work with sustainability teams to support corporate environmental goals.
  • Implement energy conservation measures, including energy-efficient HVAC systems and renewable energy solutions.
  • Manage relationships with utility providers and negotiate favorable terms and rates.
  • Coordinate with service contractors for maintenance, upgrades, or repairs related to utility systems.
  • Collaborate with facility management, finance, and other teams to align energy management strategies with organizational goals.
  • Educate departments on energy-efficient practices and technologies.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate utility management, energy administration, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the energy market, management systems, utility billing, and sustainability practices.

Desirable:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a utilities/energy environment.
  • Understanding of energy principles, sustainability initiatives, and utility tracking.
  • Experience in office administration and purchase ordering.
  • Experience in the accommodation sector.

Education & Certifications:

  • Diploma or degree in business administration, procurement, energy management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in procurement (e.g., CIPS) or energy management are desirable but not required.
