This role offers a competitive pay rate of up to £16.19 per hour, along with excellent training, career development support, and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all communal lighting is operational and effective, including changing light bulbs and adjusting time clocks as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all internal communal areas within buildings.
  • Check the operation of trade buttons on main door entry phone systems and report any defects to the housing office.
  • Inspect and clean play areas and external areas of community centres to ensure safety for users and report any broken equipment.
  • Remove litter, rubbish, and other items that create an unfavourable impression, such as weeds, from all communal housing land.
  • Maintain a safe environment on all housing land.
  • Monitor the use of community centres to ensure user safety and protect Council assets, including checking heating, hot water, and fire equipment, and setting up tables and chairs as necessary.
The successful Caretaker will have:
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques.
  • The ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Experience in dealing with the public in frontline service delivery, with a proven record of providing courteous and helpful service.
