Hours: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM

Contract: Maternity cover for the remainder of this academic year and into the next

A highly regarded and welcoming primary school in Harrow is seeking a qualified and passionate Nursery Teacher to join their early years team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to work with a happy and engaged class. While there are some children with mild SEN, the class is well-behaved and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children, including those with mild SEN.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and external professionals to ensure the best support for every child.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on children’s progress.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to track development and tailor learning accordingly.
  • Maintain a high standard of classroom management while promoting a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
  • Experience working with young children, ideally in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Confidence in differentiating lessons and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster independence and a love of learning.
