In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was awarded a 'Good' rating, with the report stating that the school has 'established a well-maintained and resourced school which provides an attractive learning environment for pupils.'Your role as a 1:1 Teaching AssistantAs a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working within the Year 2 class on a 1:1 basis with one of the pupils. Your duties will include:

  • Recording and reporting a pupil's progress to the teacher.
  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with the pupil to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
  • Contribute to providing high quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
  • Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • Promote the pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
  • Provide a safe learning environment for the pupil.

What you will need to succeed

  • Experience working within a primary classroom setting
  • Good behaviour management and organisational skills
  • SEN experience
  • You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
