Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting students with Autism? Look no further! We are currently seeking an ASC Teaching Assistant to join this lovely SEN School in Harrow on a full-time, long-term basis, with an immediate start.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  1. Provide individualised support to students with Autism, both academically and emotionally.
  2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the specific needs of students.
  3. Support students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, inside and outside the classroom, to promote their learning and personal development.
  4. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive behaviour.
  5. Collaborate with the school's leadership team and SENCO to develop and implement tailored support plans for students.
  6. Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to encourage their engagement and participation in learning activities.
  7. Assist with the assessment of student progress, providing feedback and contributing to progress reports.
  8. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  9. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and any additional support provided.
  10. Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting SEN students.
