Intermediate / Senior Electrical Design Engineer required. Our client is an engineering practice / consultancy based throughout the UK, looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join due to the growth of the business.

The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to develop designs and co-ordinate engineering services. Candidates will need to demonstrate experience in a number of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards. These projects include mixed use buildings, hospitals, healthcare premises, schools, commercial centres, data centres and defence.

It is expected that candidates possess a level of technical knowledge, building services design and industry standards and be capable of incorporating these technologies into any project. Some of these standards include BS, EN Regulations and BREEAM. Candidates should demonstrate their activities in developing their professional status.

Intermediate / Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Survey, tests and reports on existing installations
  • Participate in technical meetings with professional and contractor's teams
  • Undertake engineering calculations using Amtech, Pro-Design or equivalent software.
  • Preparing tender specifications and drawings for projects
  • Responsible for technical performance of others including trainee, graduates and engineers
  • Contributing to developing the design of engineering solutions and systems within the built environement, preparing plans, specifications and schedules.
  • Create reports to support design concepts that show compliance with standards and best practice.
  • Inspect installations reviewing progress, quality and performance.

Intermediate / Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Requirements

  • 3 years + experience in a similar industry and role.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Environmental Engineering
  • HNC/ONC/BTEC level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
  • Software package knowledge: NES, Pro- Design, CAD, Revit MEP and Amtech
  • A clear understanding of the design, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical building services within the built environment.
  • A good understanding of British standards.

Intermediate / Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

  • £30,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
  • Office based, working hours 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday
