Reed are acting on behalf of a prestigious school who are seeking a Business Manager to provide business management, commercial, and project management support within a prestigious educational foundation. This role involves working closely with the Chief Financial and Commercial Officer and other senior stakeholders, focusing on enhancing income generation and managing business risks to support the foundation’s charitable purposes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assess and identify opportunities for additional income generation and provide detailed analyses and presentations.
  • Manage and monitor the corporation’s risk registers and risk management tools, ensuring effective risk mitigation and reporting.
  • Support in the preparation and assembly of board and committee reports and manage inputs from various colleagues as required.
  • Collaborate on actions arising from board decisions, providing insights on assets, resources, and funds at the corporation level.
  • Assess business cases and proposals, and progress commercial discussions and agreements.
  • Liaise with external parties and maintain a register of contracts and procurement activity, highlighting best practices.
  • Engage in specific projects and bespoke analyses related to the activities of the corporation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in a strategy or management consulting practice, or a corporate development role in a regulated sector.
  • Proven track record of business partnering or working with clients in a strategic, corporate development, and business management setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages for opportunity and risk analysis.
  • University degree (desirable).
  • Experience in financial modelling, data visualisation (desirable).
  • Understanding of procurement, partnering, and commercial agreements (desirable).
