General duties:
The education and welfare of a designated class or group of pupils, in accordance with the requirements of Conditions of Employment of School Teachers, having due regard to the requirements of the:
Teachers Standards.
National and School Curricula.
School's aims, objectives, key priorities, core values and schemes of work.
Policies of the Board of Trustees and Local Governing Body.
Supporting School events and activities.
Support for Pupils:
To plan, deliver and assess learning from the curriculum.
To develop a learning environment that provides opportunities for both independent and cooperative learning opportunities.
To foster the growth of the whole child, spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically.
To set high standards of achievement for all learners and demonstrate excellent results and outcomes.
To be aware of the individual and specific needs of the pupils and to match activities and situations to meet these needs.
To be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles of the document Keeping Children Safe in Education.
To assist pupils with SEND and EAL in the development of self-esteem, self-expression, and self advocacy.
Experience:
To have experience of teaching in Reception, KS1 and/or KS2.
To be a reflective practitioner.
To have teaching experience in a culturally diverse school.
To have experience of preparing and writing professional documents.
To have experience of meeting the needs of a wide range of pupils.
Qualifications:
To hold Qualified Teacher Status.
To hold a SEND qualification or evidence of SEND training.
Knowledge and Skills:
To know the requirements of the Primary National Curriculum.
To have knowledge and understanding of childrens social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
To have the ability to adapt learning plans to support children with additional needs, including SEN, EAL and/or More Able.
To be able to plan, teach and assess in order to promote good pupil progress, appropriate to different students needs.
To have the ability to establish a positive learning environment, where pupils thrive and develop positive behaviour for learning.
To have good numeracy skills (e.g. GCSE Mathematics).
