Year 1 Teacher

  • Location: Harrow
  • Position: Year 1 Teacher

A vibrant and diverse school in Harrow are looking for a Year 1 teacher to join them until at least the end of the academic year with the view to go permanent. You will be working in an OFSTED 'good' 2 form entry school, with a strong support system for the staff to help new starters settle into their surroundings. As a Year 1 teacher joining for the summer term the expectation will be to assist the classroom for the remainder of their academic year while promoting the schools core principles and values.

The school believe that education is a gateway to a happy life and the vision is for all pupils to enhance their skills to aid progression successfully through primary school. As a Year 1 Teacher, you will need to demonstrate respect, positivity and humour while providing a bespoke curriculum that is designed to give every child the knowledge and skills they need. Furthermore, you will provide exemplary subject knowledge and work ethic as a role model to your classroom. The Year 1 teacher will value the local community, heritage and neighbours, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. ECT's are welcome to apply as well as experienced Year 1 teachers.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Planning and teaching the KS1 curriculum to a high standard.
  • Driving performance within the classroom.
  • Ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Managing behaviour within the classroom.

The successful Year 1 teacher candidate will need the following:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • DBS (Refunded DBS once worked a set period).
  • Overseas police check if applicable.
  • Teaching experience or relevantly degree educated.
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview and an interview with the client.
