- To be responsible for the collection, receipt and the sorting and distribution of incoming, outgoing and internal post (including DX) and for postal record keeping, taking responsibility for action in line with business processes.
- To undertake general administrative duties including, filing, photocopying, collating papers and typing standard letters etc
- To answer routine telephone, email and written queries and enquiries, signposting as appropriate or forwarding a message to relevant colleague.
- To maintain the required working knowledge of the range of computer systems, office machinery and equipment in the service area to ensure effective use of the facilities available in performing the job
- To be familiar with general administrative practices including information technology
- Knowledge of a range of computer systems, packages and databases eg: Microsoft packages, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, , Publisher, D365, Spitfire and Strand.
- Knowledge of the principles of delivering excellent customer services.
- Dealing with customers both internal and external to the council including councillors,
- Accessing databases to input, maintain and retrieve data.
- Proven administrative experience in a service provider environment.
