- Conduct specialist assessments for individuals who are deaf, deafblind, or have hearing impairments, including evaluations for environmental aids and assistive technologies, in compliance with the Care Act 2014.
- Collaborate with citizens to perform holistic assessments of their needs, abilities, and circumstances to determine the necessary resources, equipment, or minor adaptations to enhance their independence.
- Identify eligible needs of citizens in accordance with the Care Act 2014.
- Provide assistance and advice on various issues related to citizens' support needs, including risk management, benefit maximization, support services, and equipment options to help them develop their support packages.
- Support and promote the development and maintenance of citizens' independence, aiming to minimize dependency levels.
- Knowledge of key legislation, such as the Care Act 2014, and policies and guidance related to support provision for citizens.
- Familiarity with equipment and minor adaptations for individuals who are deaf, deafblind, or have hearing impairments.
- Understanding of methods for working with service users, carers, and voluntary organizations.
- DBS checked, with a BSL Level 3 certificate (minimum) or Level 6 (maximum) required.
- Ability to conduct home visits.
