About the Role:
Are you a recent English graduate with a passion for education and a desire to inspire the next generation? Do you have experience working with children as a teaching assistant, tutor, youth worker, sports coach or support worker? If so, we would love to hear from you!
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Graduate to join our vibrant secondary school in Harrow and support their school as a Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, working closely with teachers to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons across KS3 and KS4 English lessons, ensuring students are fully engaged and supported in their learning.
- Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students, many of whom have SEN, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
- Resource Management: Help to organise resources, ensuring that all are prepared and available for lessons.
- Student Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments.
- Enrichment Activities: Support the development and delivery of extracurricular activities, such as clubs, workshops, and field trips.
About You:
- Humanities Graduate: A degree in relation to English (Literature, Language, Philosophy, Journalism, Media etc)
- Experience with Children: Either working as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
- Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people in the field of English.
- Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
- Desirable: Previous experience working with young people, either in a teaching, tutoring, or mentoring capacity, would be advantageous but is not essential.
