About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated TEFL professional to join our vibrant secondary school in Harrow and support learners who have English as and Additional Language. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, working closely with teachers to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons across KS3 and KS4 lessons, ensuring students are fully engaged and supported in their learning.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students, many of whom have SEN and EAL (English as an Additional Language), both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Resource Management: Help to organise resources, ensuring that all are prepared and available for lessons.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments.
  • Enrichment Activities: Support the development and delivery of extracurricular activities, such as clubs, workshops, and field trips.

About You:

  • TEFL Qualified or hold an English/Language-related degree (English Language, English Literature, Languages etc)
  • Experience with Children: Leading small group work with children who have English as an Additional Language
  • Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people.
  • Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
