Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic First-Class English Mentor interested in becoming an English Mentor? Are you interested in a career as an English Teacher, and venturing into the world of education?

If so, we are looking for a confident First-Class English Mentor to join a high-achieving school as an English Academic Mentor for students in a 'Good' secondary school in Barnet in their journey to their exams!

As a First-Class English Mentor, you will students of all abilities with their learning; leading 1:1 and group sessions to improve academic achievement. A First-Class English Mentor will also be expected to teach the odd classes, provide support to the whole class, and take instruction from the class teacher.

First-Class English Mentor | About the role:

  • A First-Class English Mentor has the opportunity to earn up to £510 per week dependent on experience
  • Teach GCSE and A-Level students – First-Class English Mentors should be competent in supporting English Language and English Literature up to KS5
  • This role is a long-term work placement with teacher training as an option in this fantastic school
  • Students have ambitions to attend Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities, and achieve fantastic results across faculties
  • Help students from all different backgrounds and of all abilities

First-Class English Mentor | About you:

  • You must have a First-Class degree in English from a Top-20 University to be a First-Class English Mentor
  • First-Class English Mentors should be passionate about mentoring high-performing students and students with SEND in small groups
  • It would be beneficial for an First-Class English Mentor to have Child-Facing Experience / Experience with Behaviour Management and Emotional Regulation
  • A First-Class English Mentor will be a role model for students wanting to go to Oxbridge and other top Universities
  • Has a good work ethic and subject knowledge
  • A First-Class English Mentor would be a fantastic job role to put on an application for any Aspiring English Teachers
