The Role:
Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a large secondary school with a Sixth Form in Harrow. This role will involve working closely with the TA team, providing subject support across multiple departments, and delivering small group interventions for students with SEND who require additional educational and emotional guidance.
The school is looking for a confident and adaptable HLTA who can lead learning support, work proactively with teachers, and engage with students to enhance their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide Teaching Assistants working across a range of subjects
- Deliver small group interventions for students with SEND, focusing on both academic and emotional support
- Assist with planning and delivering targeted learning activities in collaboration with teachers
- Provide in-class support, ensuring all students are engaged and able to access learning
- Monitor student progress, adapting strategies where needed to improve outcomes
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting student confidence and independence
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as an HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
- Experience working with SEND students, particularly in small-group or 1:1 settings
- Excellent subject knowledge across multiple disciplines
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting both staff and students
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate with TAs and teachers
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Additional Information:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid up to 120 per day, term time only
- Based in Harrow, London, with excellent transport links
- Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
