If so, this is an incredible opportunity to join our secondary school in Harrow as a Pastoral Support Worker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing one-to-one and group support for students with SEMH needs or those facing challenges in their personal or academic lives.
  • Building positive relationships with students to promote their emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to provide tailored support and interventions.
  • Monitoring and tracking the progress and behavior of vulnerable students, implementing strategies to help them succeed.
  • Acting as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive attitudes, self-esteem, and confidence in students.
  • Supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning, including attendance, behavior, and emotional challenges.
Requirements
  • Experience in youth work, mentoring, or supporting vulnerable children or those with SEMH needs (essential).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
  • A calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to supporting students.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, counseling, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
