Role:
  • To provide advice and support to social workers and care managers in the team on casework.
  • To support the Team Manager by deputising in their absence and / or to act as Duty Manager when needed.
  • To chair some Professional Meetings/Case Conferences as appropriate.
  • To support the social worker on duty so that incoming concerns are acted upon in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • To record actions and decisions in a clear and robust way on the Mosaic database.
  • To work with some allocated complex cases, liaising with both internal and external colleagues as appropriate.
  • Professional supervision of up to four social workers / care managers. Possibility of supervision of a social work student on placement.
  • The postholder is one of several key people overseeing the work of the service. Through supervision of the direct reports, the postholder will ensure that statutory assessments / reviews are completed in a timely fashion such that decisions can be taken about next steps to promote the welfare of citizens.
