Student's behaviour can often be a form of communication. Students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs) may need an SEMH Support Assistant to help them through their studies. If a student struggles to regulate their emotions and can be seen to act forcefully and refuse to complete their school work, it may be them communicating that they feel unable to complete their classwork for various reasons and require an SEMH Support Assistant. I am currently working on a vacancy that requires an SEMH Support Assistant whose main focus is creating a safe and nurturing environment for their children, whilst focusing subjects. As an SEMH Support Assistant, it'll be your job to support pupils with their curriculum, their pastoral needs, and oversee their time at school. You will be supporting no more than 3 pupils, alongside at least one other member of staff at all times.
