Job Description

Overview

Come and be a part of our exciting First Response Team where you will help forge our success from the very start, ensuring our children and families are assessed promptly and receive the right service the first time, after assessment.

Our First Response Team operates at the front door with a robust assessment function to assess the needs of the children and families of Harrow. You'll become part of a highly experienced team who work under the evidence based model towards improving the outcomes for children and young people.

As a team of experienced Managers and Social Workers, you will be closely supported by Morning Lane Associates working under a systemic family therapy model to ensure we meet the needs of children and families. Furthermore, you’ll be in the right place to see first-hand at least 2 of the exciting workplace initiatives Harrow’s involved with, and benefit from a £1m investment in technology to support our front line workers.

About You

What you will bring:

  • A proven track record, experience of working and managing a caseload of child in need, child protection and assessing complex children and young people’s needs in Children’s Services.
  • Social Work qualification e.g. Dip SW, BA (Hons) and/or Masters in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Enthusiastic to work within a team and independently with a manageable caseload and a good level of opportunities for career progression and training.
  • Demonstrate an ability to build high quality relationships with children and families, and across Children’s Services with internal and external partners.
  • Managing a caseload of children in need and child protection.
  • Chairing professional meetings and managing plans.
  • Conducting S47 risk assessments jointly with partner agencies.
  • Presenting cases to child protection conferences.
  • Completing Single Assessments within timescales.

The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
