Job DescriptionOverview

London Borough of Harrow are currently recruiting for enthusiastic, creative and driven Qualified Social Workers to join our Children's Safeguarding Service where they will be supported to grow as practitioners to achieve professional development and career progression.

The successful candidate will have a low caseload of children who are subjects of a child in need plan, child protection plan and care plans for children who are subjects of court proceedings and those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the court, children subject to private law proceedings.

You’ll be part of a high calibre team of social workers and will have the support of an experienced, emotionally intelligent and compassionate, forward thinking management team all looking to achieve the common goal of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children within the Borough.

About You

If you have a real interest in safeguarding children and are driven and ambitious in progressing your growth and development in this area of social work, then what you seek is seeking you, come and join us. We are seeking applications from committed professional and dynamic practitioners who have experience in the following:

  • Have a Social Work Qualification i.e. CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
  • Be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Able to pass a clear enhanced DBS check.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory duties and responsibilities relating to children and families, including:
    • Legislation
    • Regulations and Standards
    • Government Objectives and Initiatives
    • National and Common Assessment Framework
