These courses provide flexible pathways to the final year of a university degree and support students in gaining the skills and confidence needed for employment, career progression, or starting their own businesses. The academy’s ethos promotes a culture of resilience and self-belief.

  • Complete and submit all required documentation, including student reports and assessment feedback, within set deadlines.
  • Participate in induction sessions, tutor training, and meetings as required by the institution and the partner academy.
  • Take the lead on specific units, ensuring content remains current and relevant, and coordinate with fellow lecturers teaching the same unit.
  • Maintain up-to-date information and resources on the virtual learning environment (VLE).
  • Reflect on feedback from unit evaluations, appraisals, lesson observations, and external examiner reports to enhance teaching practice.
  • Uphold and implement the institution’s teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, along with related policies and procedures.

Additional Duties (As Required):

  • Support the admissions process through academic interviews when necessary.
  • Undertake personal tutoring responsibilities to support student development.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students as needed.
  • Be available to work occasional evenings or weekends if required.
  • Assist with general course administration and coordination.

Essential Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant subject area, with additional professional qualifications as applicable.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/PGCHE) and membership of Advance HE (formerly HEA), or a willingness to achieve this within 12 months of appointment.
  • Experience teaching at the HND or equivalent level in the relevant subject area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends if required.

Desirable Criteria:

  • PhD or equivalent Level 8 qualification.
  • Additional industry-related accreditations, certifications, or professional memberships.
