Join a leading wholesale and distribution company, working as a Credit Controller on a full-time and permanent basis. Located in our clients newly renovated office space, this role is crucial for supporting the company’s continued success and growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Review and analyse credit reports and credit risk to award credit on new customer accounts.
  • Discuss pro forma payments with customers who are not credit worthy.
  • Ensure large customer accounts are credit insured in line with company policy.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the company credit policies.
  • Review customer credit to ensure no breached credit limits.
  • Manage late payers by placing them on stop until payment is received.
  • Release orders by daily deadline and manage orders for future delivery dates.
  • Set up and collect direct debits and process card payment downloads daily.
  • Contact customers daily via telephone to chase bounced direct debits, collect debt, and negotiate payment plans.
  • Resolve customer problems and disputes to collect due debt.
  • Issue reminder letters for overdue debt in line with company policy.
  • Escalate non-payers to the Credit Control Manager for timely legal action.
  • Achieve bad debt and overdue debt weekly KPIs.
  • Raise credit notes ensuring request documentation is correctly filled out and the request is reasonable.
  • Provide assistance on other credit control functions as necessary, including but not limited to: answering inbound calls, monitoring and maintaining the finance inbox, bank reconciliation, banking of cheques, sending monthly customer statements, and holiday cover for other members of the credit control team.

To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience in Credit Control, including awarding credit using credit reports and with proficiency using Microsoft Excel. A Credit Management Certification would be desirable. As Credit Controller, you must be able to work in a team environment where accuracy and speed are both equally important and with a confident telephone manner. Effective monitoring of credit reporting scores and understanding of risk identification and remedial actions is also essential to this role.If the above role sounds like it's for you, click APPLY!
