Central Employment are proudly representing a globally recognised Manufacturing firm, based in Hartlepool, as they seek to recruit a new electrically bias Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance department on a permanent basis.If you are a time-served, electrically bias maintenance technician, with a background in heavy industry, apply now for an immediate response!Overview:A leading maintenance team seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias) to support its operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for performing essential maintenance tasks, responding to breakdowns, conducting planned preventative maintenance, and assisting with the installation of electrical machinery and equipment. This role requires a technician with a strong electrical background, skilled in PLC fault-finding, and able to adhere to safety standards and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support production operations by maintaining and repairing production machines and electrical equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly and conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.
  • Assist with the installation of electrical components and equipment, following engineering best practices.
  • Comply with company policies, site rules, and health and safety standards, including permit-to-work and risk assessment protocols.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct electrical fault-finding on machinery, particularly with PLC systems (preferably Siemens), inverter drives, and electrical schematics.

Essential Requirements:

  • Time-served Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias and at least three years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC fault-finding, with preference for Siemens systems.
  • Valid, clean driving license.
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a flexible approach to work.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • C&G 2382 / IET 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience in hazardous environments, with CompEx certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical tasks and multi-skilled capabilities.

Schedule and Benefits:

  • Permanent Days Shift, with the flexibility to work nights when required.
  • Standard 38-hour work week with flexibility for shift work, including nights.
  • Overtime available at 1.5x the standard rate.

Location Requirement:

  • Must be able to reliably commute to Hartlepool or plan to relocate prior to starting.
