Niche Education Ltd are currently seeking confident, engaging, and flexible personnel to work as a Cover Supervisor in a school in Hartlepool.

As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for managing a class of students across KS3 & KS4, carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. Although you will not be actively teaching it is important that cover supervisors have the relevant skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused.

The school are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic, and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff. They are looking for people who will enjoy being effective in supporting students, including those with complex needs, and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children in some form e.g., tuition, sports coaches (any type)
  • Be able to develop and maintain a calm learning environment and good behaviour management skills
  • Be able to engage with children or young adults and enforce positive behaviour
  • Be able to challenge children or young adults when they display negative behaviour
  • Be able to build a strong, respectful rapport with children or young adults, including those with SEND
  • Have the flexibility to cover most subjects
  • Have exceptionally good communication skills
  • Be responsive, flexible, and sensitive to the differing needs of pupils
  • Hold an undergraduate degree in any subject area (preferable)
