This key role involves implementing and managing the Health & Safety (H&S) management system, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
The Health & Safety Lead will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and governing bodies to drive health, safety, and environmental excellence while adhering to statutory and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities- H&S Management System: Develop, manage, and implement the H&S management system in line with ISO standards (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001) and legal requirements.
- Compliance and Awareness: Keep management and employees updated on evolving legislation and safety standards.
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and fire safety measures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Risk Assessment: Lead the development and execution of risk assessments and work instructions.
- Accident Prevention: Provide expert guidance on preventing accidents and minimizing health hazards.
- Incident Investigations: Oversee investigations of incidents, compile reports, and track safety performance metrics.
- Training: Identify and facilitate necessary H&S training programs for employees at all levels.
- PPE Management: Ensure the provision and proper use of personal protective equipment as determined by risk assessments.
- H&S Program Implementation: Support and train supervisors in implementing H&S programs effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate H&S performance and recommend actionable improvements.

- Education:
- Degree/Diploma in a related field or an IOSH Working/Managing Safely Certificate or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Qualification
- Experience: 4–5 years in health and safety roles.
- Certifications:
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- Professional certifications in recognized H&S programs.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong expertise in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing H&S systems and programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of H&S regulations and risk management.
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership abilities.
- Strong skills in audits, inspections, and safety performance analysis.
