To work in a modern State of the art plastic recycling plant
To provide efficient and effective maintenance and breakdown cover to the SPL Hartlepool site, looking after and maintaining machinery and ancillaries, e.g. preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to ensure uptime and effective production on machinery.
You will be required to work without direct supervision and be able to identify tasks that require attention. It is essential that you can communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:
General
To undertake maintenance engineering duties as required on a daily basis as directed by the Lead Engineer
To organise and undertake a pre-planned maintenance schedule in accordance with written instructions and work procedures.
Plan and order spare parts. To ensure all PPM work is able to continue within the planned operations time frame, whilst ensuring approval and authorisation from the Lead Engineer.
To react to emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric & water supply and report / communicate issues and actions to the Lead Engineer.
To be aware of the location of all stop cocks, gas and electric isolation points.
To attend to where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as contractors as instructed by the Lead Engineer.
To monitor the work of contractors attending site, as instructed by the Lead Engineer ensuring that work permits are in place and where required RAMS have been issued.
Assist in carrying out weekly fire alarm tests.
Assist with evacuation procedures, when necessary.
Read gas, electric & water meters and maintain appropriate records including meter readings and logbooks as and when required.
Undertake specialist mandatory equipment training to enable the company to meet its obligations. (Safe use of ladders, scaffolding, fire alarm systems, manual handling, COSHH, forklift truck & MEWP licences).
Ensure compliance with all contractual / statutory / mandatory undertakings associated with, 'The delivery of a comprehensive Maintenance and TPM schedule'.
To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job. As requested by Lead Engineer.

- Significant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Effective Communicator at all levels
- Experience of using Ladders / Scaffolding / MEWP
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence.
- Qualified Electrical and Mechanical Engineer - Electrical bias preferable. 17th edition qualified
- Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated and driven to achieve set targets
- Experience working with or setting up TPM schedules
- IOSH Managing Safely
- LEAN Six Sigma green belt
- Forklift truck License
- IPAF license
- MEWP Licence
