Production Scheduler

Major Talent are partnered with a global player within the flavours and ingredients space, and we are looking to recruit a Production Scheduler based at their site in County Durham.

As a Production Scheduler, you will plan the throughput of the manufacturing plant to deliver the best customer service levels (on time in full), optimum manufacturing efficiency & cost, whilst minimising cash value held in finished product inventory.

Day shift role with flexitime working scheme

Responsibilities of a Production Scheduler

  • To lead and maintain the daily planning and production plan, ensuring all raw materials and packaging are on site or have planned delivery.
  • To ensure the Oracle system is kept fully up to date with production supply changes and plans.
  • To review the accuracy of the plan in terms of batches made, yields, cycle time, and downtime to update trackers accordingly.
  • To coordinate with purchasing, the raw materials and packaging required to meet the promised delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service Group the promised delivery date and advise of any problems relating to the production schedule.
  • To maintain stock levels as per the business categorization and requirements.
  • To maintain Cycle Times & Routings, and any other product master data information, as required.
  • To fulfil other tasks deemed appropriate by the company.

Skills Required to be a Production Scheduler

  • Educated to a Degree level in a relevant discipline i.e. Business, Operations, Supply Chain would be advantageous;
  • APICS certification is desirable.
  • Planning & Capacity Planning experience;
  • MRP/ERP system experience (e.g. Oracle, SAP);
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing planning/scheduling methodologies;
  • Demonstrable experience in applying continuous improvement techniques within a supply chain/manufacturing role
