Job Overview
A leading global industrial client is seeking an experienced Project Construction Mechanical Superintendent to oversee mechanical construction aspects of CAPEX & OPEX projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while managing contractors and maintaining compliance with HSE regulations and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical construction activities, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Act as the principal site contact for mechanical works, liaising with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Oversee the installation of static and rotating equipment, piping, and structural supports.
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations, CDM 2015, and site safety policies.
- Conduct risk assessments, method statement reviews, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor work quality to ensure alignment with British & European engineering standards (BS, ISO, ASME).
- Manage and resolve technical issues, working closely with engineering teams.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Superintendent or in a similar role within industrial, chemical, or heavy engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping, static/rotating equipment, and structural installations.
- Familiarity with CDM 2015 Regulations and best construction safety practices.
- Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and ensuring QA/QC compliance.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and isometric diagrams.
- Previous experience within COMAH-regulated sites.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent site safety training.
- LOLER & PUWER Awareness (desirable).
