Finance AssistantTemporary - OngoingHourly Rate: £14.00 - £14.25 premium rate per hourBased in HartlepoolImmediate Start RequiredA leading manufacturing company based in Hartlepool is looking for a temporary finance assistant to join a busy accounting team. You will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will be working with a friendly and welcoming team.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide finance support for timely weekly / monthly reporting.
- Process invoices reconcile delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders, in line with best practice processes.
- Ensure all purchases are fully and accurately recorded within the company's accounting system, including the proper allocation of supplier codes, nominal codes, and cost centres.
- Process customer refunds accurately and efficiently, adhering to company policies and procedures. This includes verifying refund eligibility, generating refund documentation, and updating customer accounts within the accounting system.
- Provide regular reports to managers of departments.
- Maintain financial systems and make updates when necessary.
- Carry out monthly accounting procedures related to month-end.
- Generation of key reports.
- Involvement in the production of the monthly preparation of financial data for inclusion in the Management Accounts.
- Involvement in the production of the annual statutory accounts.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements and company credit card(s)
- Dealing with expenses & data administration.
- Deal with (and resolve) general invoice queries via phone and email.
- Work on ad hoc projects as directed by the Financial Controller.
What you'll need to succeedEssentials:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Finance role.
- An aptitude for IT - knowledge of software packages like Excel and SAGE.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics are a minimum requirement.
