Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Central Planner, working for a client located in Hartlepool. Reporting to the Transport Director. The successful candidate will deliver a range of duties in support of the central planning function.

Central Planner Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day routing of vehicles within the business in an efficient and effective manner. Working as part of a centralised team.
  • Implementation of Health, Safety & Environment policies.
  • Scheduling all vehicles for the sites/region allocated to this role.
  • Holiday and absence driver management for the sites/region allocated to this role.
  • Driver briefing and de-briefing in co-ordination with regional traffic operators.
  • Ensuring drivers are available for all necessary training.
  • Ensuring vehicles are available for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Depot fuel stock management.
  • Producing and providing all relevant reporting.
  • Ensuring all planning objectives are met and exceeded when possible.

Central Planner Applicants:

Essential:

  • Strong planning skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining compliance.
  • Strong I.T. skills.
  • An ability to motivate and engage the team in understanding best practice and compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • An ability to develop and maintain a harmonious team working environment, reducing points of conflict, and resolving any issues at the earliest stage possible.
  • An ability to make the best use of the resources available to address the agreed priorities.
  • A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all relevant regulatory, law and compliance legislation.
  • An ability to analyse data to provide effective management reporting to enable fully informed decision making for the Transport Director.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 supervisory Management (ILM or CMI).
  • Previous experience of working in a planning environment for a liquid fuel distributor.
