An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a leading brand in the UK Transport industry. Based in Harwich, you will be an integral part of the Finance team, playing a pivotal role in financial and accounting processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities within the company.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare monthly Trial balance and support in the preparation of management accounts to strict deadlines.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and cashbook reconciliations, handling non-trade and foreign currency payments.
  • Manage month-end journals and support Sales and Purchase ledger operations.
  • Oversee two employees to ensure they meet their targets and deadlines.
  • Handle complete monthly payroll, support weekly payroll tasks, and manage year-end returns and P11D’s.
  • Develop internal and external KPIs and handle ONS returns.
  • Prepare VAT returns for the UK and Ireland and report on weekly cash flow.
  • Support audit, statutory accounts, and corporation tax processes.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and benchmarking processes.
  • Analyse revenue, costs, and project spend to support the management team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT qualified with training support for CIMA/ACCA.
  • At least 3 years of experience within a financial environment.
  • Strong experience in Management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc.).
