The Client:

A leading main contractor working within the leisure, commercial, education and healthcare sectors and a stalwart of the local construction industry over the last c. 40 years, with a reputation for delivering complex new build and refurbishment projects to excellent standards.

The Role:

As Document Controller your role will be a multi-faceted one with a lot of variety. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all project documents are managed, filed and controlled in a timely and efficient manner, issued to on-site management and issued throughout the supply chain to sub-contractors, external consultants and other associated parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files and documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules and correspondence.
  • Ensure all project documentation is reviewed, approved, uploaded and distributed to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met.
  • Ensure sub-contractors and external consultants are sending through relevant information for project documentation to be updated.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within the construction industry is desirable, but not essential, specifically within document control, administration or customer care coordination.
  • Organised and efficient manner with an attention to detail, able to ensure that drawing registers are managed and filed in a constructive manner.
  • Strong communication skills, able to converse deal with assigning work internally and liaising with customers externally to resolve issues.

Qualifications & Experience:.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT use.
