GRS are looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters to join our clientworking on water treatment plants, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment critical to water industry operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, pipework, and rotating equipment.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on water treatment and pumping systems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Adhere to strict health & safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
  • Work as part of a team to complete projects on time and to the highest standards.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or similar discipline
  • CSCS / CCNSG / EUSR Water Hygiene Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in the water industry or similar industrial environments (e.g., utilities, manufacturing, heavy engineering)
  • Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, motors, pipework, and rotating equipment
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
  • Full UK driving license (preferred)
