My client are a leading machine plant and equipment hire company specialising in sectors such as construction and utilities. They have expanded significantly, now operating over 2,500 machines across multiple UK depots. They provide a range of modern, high-quality equipment prioritising values like teamwork, trust, customer commitment, and sustainability. They are a 60m Turnover business with over 100 current staff.

Due to sustained growth, they are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team.

Duties to include:

  • Processing and recording supplier invoices accurately.
  • Matching invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Resolving discrepancies with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Managing supplier accounts and ensuring they are up-to-date.
  • Preparing and processing payment runs (BACS, CHAPS, cheques).
  • Reconciling supplier statements to the purchase ledger.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing documents.
  • Handling queries from suppliers regarding payments and invoices.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc tasks and reporting.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
