My client are a leading machine plant and equipment hire company specialising in sectors such as construction and utilities. They have expanded significantly, now operating over 2,500 machines across multiple UK depots. They provide a range of modern, high-quality equipment prioritising values like teamwork, trust, customer commitment, and sustainability. They are a 60m Turnover business with over 100 current staff.

Due to sustained growth, they are recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer to join their business.

Duties to include:

  • Financial Strategy Development: Develop and implement the organisation's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with UK regulatory requirements (e.g., Companies Act, HMRC).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax laws, accounting standards (IFRS or UK GAAP), and corporate governance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks by establishing effective controls and ensuring the organisation's financial stability.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Analyse financial data to support decision-making and provide strategic financial insights.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital requirements to ensure the business has sufficient funding.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the finance department, ensuring effective performance, training, and development.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-saving measures and ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Financial Audits: Coordinate and manage internal and external financial audits, ensuring transparent and accurate financial records.
