Our client in Hassocks is seeking a full-time accountant to join their successful team, with a salary ranging from £40,000 to £50,000 per year.
The role is office-based, requiring 35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and offers good company benefits including an excellent pension scheme.
Candidates should ideally be ICAEW or ACA qualified and possess proven experience in an accountancy role, particularly in VAT, CT600, and Personal Tax.
Strong computer skills in software such as Iris, Xero, Excel, and Sage, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities, are essential for this position.
This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will handle various tasks to support clients and ensure deadlines are met.

The role - Accountant

You will play a key role within a professional and dynamic working environment.

You will be responsible for handling a variety of tasks to support clients.

Duties will include:

Accounts preparation to CT600 level

VAT preparation using various software systems

Personal Tax preparation

Communication of tax liabilities to clients via telephone, email or in person

Be responsible for meeting deadlines and filing returns

Clear communication of information with external bodies

Provide general advice to clients as required

Experience, competencies and knowledge required

Office based

ICAEW or ACA qualified - ideally with some practice experience

Proven experience in an Accountancy role, to include VAT, CT600 and Personal TaxComputer skills including Iris, Xero, Excel and SageExcellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously and as a team memberAbility to multi-task, prioritise work and manage time effectivelyStrong organisational skills to maintain a structured work environment
