We are delighted to present an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant at a prestigious SEN school in Hassocks. Catering to students aged 11-19 with autism and other complex needs, the school is dedicated to creating a supportive and enriching environment that enables every student to succeed.

Day to day of the role:
  • Work in close partnership with the class teacher to provide high-quality learning support.
  • Offer pastoral care and contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and assist in behaviour management within the classroom.
  • Uphold safeguarding principles and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and accompany students on educational trips.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A strong commitment to supporting the development and wellbeing of students with special educational needs.
  • Experience in a teaching assistant, learning support assistant, or learning mentor role within an SEN setting.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with the SEN Code of Practice and the National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
