Fleet Manager
£40,000 - £45,000, Hassocks (own transport essential), Monday to Friday, office based, 25 days holiday, Pension, Training, Parking
The Role
Due to an internal promotion, a wonderful, growing business has an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Manager to join them. This role will report into the Managing Director and will be for the day-to-day management of the fleet both Company owned and hired vehicles, ensuring the availability to meet the demands of the business. Additionally, maintaining adherence to current transport, Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- Actively research, identify, and select suitable and efficient vehicles for fleet as needed, with MD's approval
- Arrange installation of essential equipment on new vehicles, including Chapter 8, trackers, and boarding.
- Control and maintenance of fleet insurance, and registering new vehicles with i-Auditor, Dart Charge, TFL, and AA breakdown cover
- Manage allocation and inspection of fleet vehicles for new startersObtain and maintain the companies Restricted O-Licence
- Provide a programmed control of servicing, maintenance and repair of all owned and hired vehicles including controlling and coordinating resolutions to breakdowns and faults etc. ensuring minor issues are actioned within 24 hours
- Monitor i-Auditor vehicle inspection logs daily, resolving issues as they arise
- Investigate and manage costs for negligent vehicle damage, liaising with Finance for recharges to responsible parties as appropriate.
- Preparing vehicle documentation for clients and regulatory bodies audits
- Co-ordinate the replacement of damaged vehicle parts and maintain a stock of spare consumable parts for vehicles i.e. side mirrors, indicator housing etc.
Requirements
To be successful in the role of Fleet Manager, we would expect the successful applicant to have experience in a fleet or transport management position with good experience and knowledge of vehicle control and Department of Transport Legislation and guidance notes. Transport Manager CPC is preferred but not essential. You will have an analytical mindset with great problem-solving skills. You will be a proven team leader with the ability to communicate and engage with all levels in the business. This role could suit someone who has worked as a Fleet Manager, Transport Manager or Transportation Manager
Due to location and the nature of the role it is essential you have a full licence and your own transport.
