The RoleA growing company operating in a niche market is looking for an enthusiastic production assistant to join their team. Specialising in optical and projection display solutions, the company supplies products and services across industries such as simulation and training, entertainment, museums, and gaming.
This hands-on role involves manufacturing, assembling, testing, and packing opto-mechanical products while supporting product demonstrations and preparing items for international shipping. Full training will be provided, with excellent opportunities for progression.
- Inspecting, assembling, and packing opto-mechanical products
- Producing high-performance optical blend components using bespoke equipment
- Assisting in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of products
- Maintaining stock control via the Kanban system
- Driving efficiency improvements through process development
- Occasionally supporting facilities maintenance
- Participating in trade show and demonstration set-ups
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset. While formal qualifications are not essential, GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are desirable. Candidates must be able to work independently and within a team, demonstrating attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
This role could suit someone who has worked as a production technician, assembly operative, or manufacturing assistant.
