Job Title: Fire & Security Installation Technician
Job Location: East Sussex
Job Brief
We are seeking enthusiastic Fire & Security System Installation and Service Engineers to join our growing team. In this role, you will receive ongoing training, support, and development while working on a wide range of fire and security services for both domestic and commercial clients.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain fire and security systems in various settings
- Identify and rectify faults across all disciplines
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time and to industry standards
- Compile comprehensive installation documents and complete electronic submissions
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of solid installation experience in the fire and security industry
- Experience in industrial, commercial, and domestic installations and maintenance
- Knowledge of multiple manufacturers’ equipment
- Basic IT skills, including MS Word and MS Outlook
Technical Skills:
- Installation and maintenance of systems such as Hikvision, Paxton, Scantronic, Texecom, Galaxy, Morley/Kentec Fire, and Nurse Call Systems
- Ability to install systems to BAFE and NSI Gold industry standards
Personal Attributes:
- Punctual, positive, and proactive
- Detail-oriented and methodical
- Time-efficient and capable of working independently
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- ECS Card with at least 6 months remaining
- 5 years of experience in the Fire & Security industry
Desirable:
- IP knowledge
- Qualified in Fire Extinguisher installation and servicing
- IPAF, PASMA, and Asbestos Awareness certifications
Contractual Information:
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Standby Duties: Paid retainer plus paid call outs, 4 days on rotation among all technicians
- Salary: £36,000 - £38,000
- Holidays: 23 days paid holiday plus UK statutory Bank Holidays, increasing with time served
- Pension: Auto-enrollment into the workplace pension scheme after a 3-month probation period, with an option to opt out
