Our clients are offering an exciting opportunity to join their team, where you’ll be responsible for the setup, optimisation, and operation of various CNC machines. What’s on Offer:
- Salary: £30,000- £32,000
- Benefits: £3,000 joining fee and expenses bonus if living further afield
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and adjust 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners, and bar feeders
- Operate CNC machine tools, minimising downtime and ensuring optimal machine performance
- Verify programs and settings using a variety of measuring equipment, applying adjustments and modifications to ensure precision
- Ensure component compliance with engineering drawings and quality procedures, utilising appropriate inspection tools
- Record daily operations and provide operational equipment effectiveness (OEE) results
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing processes and applying site-specific methods
- Carry out daily maintenance on machines as required to ensure ongoing operational efficiency
- Uphold high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation, adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines
- Assist with additional tasks as required to support production and other departments
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a CNC Machinist role with expertise in setting and operating 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Fanuc, Citizen, and Mazatrol systems is desirable
- Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical engineering (C&G/NVQ or equivalent)
- Skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, use measurement equipment
- Shift Flexibility: Experience working alternating early/ late shifts with minimal supervision
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on producing quality components
- Flexibility: Adaptability to changing tasks and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
