Secondary SEN Class Teacher - To start September

Specialism can be either Maths, English or Science

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and energetic Secondary Teacher to join our team at a purpose-built special school in Hastings. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic professional with a deep understanding of and commitment to teaching children with complex behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties.

We are flexible on your subject specialism and would welcome Maths, Science or English.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences tailored to children with SEMH and associated needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans to meet the specific needs of each pupil.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports pupils’ emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the overall development of pupils.
  • Continuously assess and record pupils’ progress, adapting teaching methods to facilitate learning and development.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos of high expectations and a climate of possibility, ensuring each child is well-prepared for the future.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of teaching primary-aged pupils with SEMH and associated needs.
  • Strong understanding of the strategies required to manage complex behaviours effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
  • Right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
