Our client who are looking for an experienced Upholsterers to join their team on a permanent basis in Hasting’s area. You will become part of an experienced team who design and manufacture high end furniture.
Main Duties
- Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery stencils.
- Selecting and sourcing upholstery materials.
- Dismantling furniture for upholstery preparation.
- Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils.
- Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.
- Installing and repairing furniture webbing and springs.
- Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.
- Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric into place.
- Smoothing out imperfections.
- Conducting quality checks on completed orders.
- Ability to work at a fast pace while continuing to produce goods to a high standard.
- Punctuality and the ability to meet targets.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ensure that the company’s Health and Safety Policies are rigorously applied and complied with.
- Compliance with the company’s policies and directives.
- Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to lift goods so will need to have the ability to do so.
- You will be on your feet for long periods of time
Qualification’s Skills and Experience
- Proven work experience as an upholsterer.
- Excellent design skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
- Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
- Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
- Good attention to detail.
Working Hours
- Mondays to Fridays
