Senior QC Microbiologist

Hatfield

12 month FTC

Purpose:

Provide microbiological expertise, acting as a subject matter expert. Conduct testing of materials and facilities for contamination, adhering to specifications, procedures, and timelines. Reports to the QC Microbiology & Stability Programmes Manager.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with corporate standards, GMP, GDP, and industry regulations.

Maintain a safe work environment, report incidents, and drive continuous improvement.

Build effective working relationships across teams to meet production and quality goals.

Key Duties:

Lead updates to QC Microbiology processes in line with regulations.

Train team members to enhance technical knowledge.

Perform microbiological testing on materials and environmental samples.

Maintain, calibrate, and qualify lab equipment (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ).

Manage microbiological quality systems, write SOPs, and support audits.

Handle deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and analytical method transfers.

Collect data for reports and support inspections.

Skills/Qualifications:

Degree in Microbiology or related field.

2+ years in a senior QC microbiology role in pharmaceuticals.

Expertise in microbiological testing (e.g., water, microbial limits, identification).

Strong GMP knowledge, quality systems understanding, and technical judgment.

Proficient in MS Office tools.
