Technical Support Engineer Automotive Sector | OEM
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 DOE + 10% Bonus, Company Car, Pension and 1 day WFH

Were looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join a Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer, providing expert assistance to the dealer network nationwide. If you have a strong background in Commercial Vehicle diagnostics and customer support, this is the perfect opportunity to take your career to the next level.

About the Role

  • Provide technical assistance to the dealer network across the UK.
  • Manage the technical support hotline, assisting dealers with troubleshooting.
  • Identify recurring issues and liaise with the training department to improve dealer knowledge.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the customer excellence team, ensuring customer concerns are addressed.
  • Support dealers in resolving customer issues and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct dealer visits to provide hands-on technical support and promote best practices.
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure technical issues are well-documented and resolved efficiently.
  • Promote R&M and Service Retention Programmes to enhance dealer support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and ensure all support requests are handled efficiently.
  • Attend after-sales, operations, and technical meetings to stay updated on industry developments.
  • Conduct customer visits with dealer personnel, encouraging proactive dealer engagement.
  • Maintain detailed reports of customer issues, including technical data and photographs, for dispute resolution.
  • Communicate technical failures and trends via the TIR system.
  • Identify training gaps within the dealer network and assist in planning future training initiatives.

About You

  • Minimum BTEC and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Automotive Studies.
  • At least five years experience in a franchised dealership .
  • Hands-on experience using manufacturer systems, including warranty platforms.
  • Strong IT skills, including computer-aided diagnostics and a good understanding of MS Office.
  • HGV driving licence
  • Familiarity with MIMAMORI data analysis.
