The role will be based in Hatfield twice a week.

Main purpose of the job:

The Cloud Lead directs the design, engineering, and development of globally optimised IT Infrastructure cloud platforms. The candidate owns cloud hosting environments, including data center strategies ensuring their implementations address business strategies and priorities across various business functions. The candidate is also responsible for ensuring the cloud strategy is integrated with strategic principles and internal standards.

In addition, the candidate provides direction input for technology selection, system integration and governance across cloud enterprise platforms and on-premises computing platforms - in compliance with applicable global, regional, and local regulations and in accordance with standards.

The candidate will lead the enterprise through the optimization and migration to new cloud technologies, evaluating processing performance relating to cloud infrastructure utilisation, reliability, financial forecasting, and human resources needed to meet the established service level objectives.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Technology Strategy:

  • Provide strategy, direction setting, prioritisation, planning, and execution for cloud infrastructure services.  This includes oversight of hybrid-cloud environments and on-premises data center services.
  • Develops and maintains an overall cloud technology strategy and future state based on business needs, and including system capabilities such as compute, storage, cloud platforms, reporting/visualisation, business process automation and integrity.

Architecture:

  • Establishes Architecture, technical design, engineering, and documentation standards as a reference for all new systems implementations.
  • Works closely with IT BRMs and Business Owners to develop and maintain functional and/or technology roadmaps.

Organisational Leadership:

  • Leads a team of Cloud architects, automation engineers, database engineers, project managers for the development and support of Cloud platforms.
  • In keeping with the IT Technology Strategy, provide team with training, guidance to accomplish organisations objectives.

Experience sought:

Work Experience and Education

  • Demonstrated experience IT Platform services domain experience is required including extensive working experience in Cloud & Data Center platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Solutions Architect on cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Advanced certification with one or more cloud providers. AWS Certified Architect Professional is a must have.
  • Strong track record of effective cross-functional team collaboration and execution
  • Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative consulting manner to drive data center and cloud strategy.
  • The ability to work at all levels of the organisation to develop a vision for platform roadmaps and maintain consensus around the strategic direction allowing us to meet business needs.
  • Strong business analysis skill and experience, including development of business/IT vision and strategy, requirements definition, process modelling, and operating model design
