We are looking for a Logistics Trade Compliance Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations within our Supply Chain department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our Distribution Strategy, maximizing cost-effectiveness and sustainability, and ensuring goods are supplied to market compliantly and in line with ‘On Time In Full’ (OTIF) objectives. This role requires a deep knowledge and understanding of customs trade compliance to secure efficient and timely import & export of all products and materials.
Day to Day of the Role:- Coordinate all aspects of the import and export process, including documentation for equipment, components, reference samples, semi-finished, and finished goods.
- Oversee logistics operations encompassing imports and exports for the UK and the EU.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs), and EU third-party distribution centers to align distribution with our strategy.
- Direct Logistics and Warehouse teams for order preparation and completion.
- Check Freight invoices against quotes/contracted prices.
- Identify and secure cost-effective methods for exports, understanding customer expectations and carrier capabilities.
- Serve as the first point of contact for import and export matters.
- Handle customs queries and ensure correct duty & taxes are paid.
- Maintain Logistics Import & Export logs with real-time data.
- Update and author related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Risk Assessments (QRAs).
- Track key exports, communicate delays, and plan and dispatch non-commercial shipments.
- Promote best practice approach to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliance and risk-based decision making.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding transport damage and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Monitor Logistics consumables stock levels and order as required.
- Demonstrable experience in a regulated logistics role.
- Experience with import/export procedures.
- Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication links within the organisation and with global partners.
- Competence in building and managing relationships with Logistics providers and CMOs.
- Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational & planning skills.
- Confident verbal and written communicator.
- Diplomatic and self-motivating.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
