As Manufacturing Engineer, you can own the manufacturing process, to ensure quality product on time and within budget.You will be a Manufacturing Engineering authority on process for a long-established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes and a specialist in the aerospace and defence power transmission field.About the job: The client currently requires Senior Manufacturing / Manufacturing Engineers to take a lead on all manufacturing and assemblies as well as process improvement. The job scope will range from day-to-day production support to implementation of new products and processes. The job will involve;•   Providing manufacturing support via problem solving and process improvements for the production team.•   Create and properly maintain process documentation, work instructions, control plans and stage & fixture drawings.•   Support day-to-day production as required.•   Optimize all aspects of existing production processes, quality and efficiency.•   Manage all aspects of consumable tooling required for production.•   Create and properly manage BOMS and routings.•   Responsible for ensuring cycle and setup times are accurate through the manufacturing cycle.•   Process improvements to eliminate scrap, rework and returns.•   Ensure new products transition efficiently from concept to the shop floor and achieve planned cost and lead time.•   Properly deploy lean tools and practices throughout operations. 5S, TPM, VRK and VSM. •   Develop cross functional working relationships with other departments.About you: As a Manufacturing Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:•   Educated to degree level or equivalent apprenticeships in an engineering discipline, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial. •   Strong industry experience in metal machining processes, rotating equipment design.•   A proven record of developing capable manufacturing processes.•   Competent in reading and developing manufacturing drawings.  •   A proven record of solving difficult problems and improving processes. •   Strong written and verbal communications.•   Experience with solid works is preferred.•   Experience in leading kaizen, and/or rapid improvement events is preferred.•   Formal Green Belt / Black belt training or another problem-solving methods is preferred. •   Experience with Minitab is preferred.  Manufacturing EngineerWelham Green, Hertfordshire Permanent Salary £50000 - £60000 Keywords: Manufacturing, Production, Assembly, Process planning, Metal machining processes, Rotating equipment design Change management, Continuous Improvement, Aerospace, Defence, kaizen, 5S, TPM, VRK and VSM.Electus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to a number of high technology industries.
