Join our team as a Maintenance Engineer, where you will be responsible for a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This role is ideal for a multi-skilled professional with experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering, who is ready to handle on-call duties and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- On-call responsibilities (1 in 6), including weekend and bank holiday site visits for boiler maintenance and plant room checks.
- Work hours are staggered; one week from 07:30 to 16:00 and the next from 09:30 to 18:00.
- Cover for absences due to holidays and sickness as required.
- Conduct routine planned preventative maintenance, as well as reactive and corrective tasks.
- Utilize BMS for maintenance, addressing breakdowns, and responding to alarm conditions.
- Investigate mechanical/electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective remedies.
- Support small project works and share knowledge based on experience and competencies.
- Ensure documentation is completed on time and properly filed.
- Assist with contractor site inductions and propose ideas for continuous improvement.
- Manage stock items for routine maintenance and support business groups in reducing carbon emissions and energy costs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BS7671 & C&G 2391 for electrical; full-term apprenticeship for mechanical).
- Proficient in using computer systems including MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and CAFM systems like Maximo.
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Experience with domestic and low temperature hot water systems, motor controls, relay logic, AHU's, FCU's, and chilled water systems.
- Familiarity with safe systems of work and the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Experience with CMMS and BMS systems is essential.
